Hearts of Hope--A Bonnie Hunter Design πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

Hearts of Hope (55" x 68")

This was a sew-along pattern designed by Bonnie Hunter to show respect for the people of Ukraine. I made it in honor of my mother-in-law whose family fled the region ahead of WW2.

Hearts of Hope (border and binding detail)

If you have read my blog before, you know how much I love string piecing--so, you can believe that I enjoyed making this one.

Hearts of Hope (backing detail)

I used a lovely sunflower (the Ukrainian national flower) print for the back.

As usual, I had leftover blocks, so I put them together into this accent pillow. The pillow is also backed with the sunflower print.

Happy Quilting! 😺

Mystery Completed!

I've been a bit slow the past month getting things finished, but I finally am done with this mystery quilt.

I followed a mystery on the Quilting Board forum (thanks, Judy!) to make this. Instead of putting the extra blocks on the back as I usually do, I made throw pillows with them. This will be a gift for our departmental adopted holiday family at Christmas.

It feels good to get a finish! I hope there will soon be more to come.
