Gift Quilt=No Posts!

I've been working on a gift quilt, so I haven't been able to post pictures of my work this week.

During the time I had between steps, I pulled fabric for a donation quilt. My only thought was "cheerful." Here are the pressed FQs.

I used a pattern I'd been wanting to try, "Easy Peasy" from Cool Cat Creations. (Here's a LINK to their Etsy shop.)  Got the top together, but I haven't decided on a backing yet. So . . .  to be continued . . .

I also made binding for three quilts I have to finish. Check out those fancy-dancy binding holders. Hey--they work!

I'm back to the gift quilt--only the binding to finish now!

Old Tobacco Road--Ready for Final Border

I've been working steadily on this quilt (Old Tobacco Road--A Bonnie Hunter quilt), and I'm ready for the outside border.

I auditioned two types: straight strings like I did for Jamestown Landing and string squares, which would produce a zigzag effect. I liked the zigzag, but in the end, I thought it was too busy. I have started stitching the borders. Here is one, placed at the edge of the top to check its effect:

Stay tuned! I'll show the finished quilt as soon as I get it done.

Jamestown Landing--Part 6

I got the borders on, and I think they work well.

All that I need to do now is baste and quilt it. I'll post when it is completely finished.
