Last year, Bonnie Hunter's mystery was called Allietare. For that quilt, I pulled out red, gold, and neutral fabrics.

As I was working on Allietare, I thought about the fact that I wanted to do Jamestown Landing (also from Bonnie Hunter) in red and neutral, so while I had the fabrics out, I started that quilt.

I also wanted to make an Old Tobacco Road quilt (yet another Bonnie Hunter design). I used the already collected golds for that one.

Old Tobacco Road takes lots of browns, so as I was cutting them, I cut extra brown strings. I used some of them in the Old Tobacco Road border, but I had lots left over. Pfeffernusse takes brown string blocks, so it seemed natural to start that one.

I've got all the blocks made, and I'm starting to assemble it. As usual, I made extra blocks--in this case, quarter square triangles (QSTs).

I'm thinking that these extra blocks may lead to an Ohio Star quilt...

ReplyDeleteI've made at least 100 quilts now and have at least 20 in my head right now. Sometimes I try to forget a pattern but it never works. They seem to sneak into my head and knock around in there creating all manner of noise and confusion. The only way to quieten them down is to sew up a pattern or two! Good luck and have fun, too.
Your description sounds so familiar! I often have trouble going to sleep at night with all the buzzing in my head. :)

ReplyDeleteI understand completely how one project leads to another, if you are already cutting strips, what are a few more? I like your Jamestown Landing in red & white, very unusual. There are a lot more Bonnie quilts I would like to make but there is only so much time! Blessings, Gretchen
