The Secret Garden

As a child, my favorite book was The Secret Garden. As an adult, I am lucky enough to teach the book every semester. Great job, right? 

That, of course, means that I re-read the book often. I have several editions,


These are only a few of them!



but I must admit that my favorite is the one I had as a child.

It's fragile and in pretty bad shape, but it is dear to me.



What does this have to do with quilting?

Mary, birds, and seed packets!



I don't know yet what I will make with these, but until then, I'll just enjoy looking at them and being reminded of a wonderful book.

    There is nothing better than stories coming to life in a quilt! What a wonderful find. You will surely create a treasure as wonderful as that Secret Garden!!

    Oh my goodness! Who does not love that book? What an awesome find in the fabric. I like to pair children's quilts with books when gifted. You would not have any problem doing that with this one.

    Also thank for commenting on my blog... thingy is a favorite technical term, LOL. The comment came in with you listed as a no reply commenter, so I googled The Eclectic Abuela. Sure hope I found the right person. (I accidentally touched the Delete button when I was aiming for the Publish button, but at least I got the info before your comment disappeared. )

    I loved that book too - there is a coloring book now called that too - one of the new kinds for us creative adults :)
